Whether it’s a private house or an apartment… Or maybe both?

As we all know, there are as many opinions as there are people. However, it turns out that an apartment and a single-family house can be combined – and this hybrid is called a “townhouse.” A townhouse combines the convenience of an urban apartment with the privacy of a rural home. It consists of a cluster of low-rise, comfortable cottages, each with its own entrance, connected by side walls and featuring their own plots of land ranging from 100 to 400 square meters.
A townhouse is an ideal choice for people who want to avoid the hustle and bustle of big cities but don’t have the desire or financial means to buy a country house. It offers a convenient, comfortable, and affordable housing option for middle-class and upper-middle-class individuals.

Each cottage not only provides living space (approximately 150–300 square meters) but also includes a private garage and parking space. Townhouses typically feature a vertical floor plan: the ground floor usually contains the kitchen, living room, technical areas, and auxiliary rooms, while the upper floors have bedrooms, a children’s room, and a study. Some townhouses also have a basement level. All floors are equipped with separate bathrooms.

Advantages of townhouses over apartments:
- **Environmental benefits.** Townhouse developments, like residential communities, are usually located in green areas away from polluted highways and industrial zones. They are also typically within 20–30 minutes’ drive of the city center.
- **Private land plot.** You own a piece of land next to your house where you can plant flowers, build a gazebo for outdoor relaxation, or install a small pool.
- **Secure parking.** Your car is parked right outside your home, in a sheltered and secure area.
- **Well-developed infrastructure.** Townhouses come with access to all the necessary facilities.
- **Security.** The property is often under surveillance.

Disadvantages compared to apartments: Although an apartment may be cheaper initially, long-term costs such as utility bills, fees for using the infrastructure, and other necessary expenses will likely be higher than those associated with a townhouse.
