Church of St. Nicholas Cossack, Putivl
In the Putivle is the church of Nikola Kazatsky, built in 1735-1737 with money from local Ukrainian Cossacks. The architectural style of the temple - Ukrainian baroque with the addition of elements of classicism, as evidenced by the unusual shape of the building's silhouette and the presence of two towers. From afar the structure of the temple is somewhat like a huge ship.
The church has two more names: Stone Nikolai and the Church of Mykolaiv Velikoretskaya. Originally, the church was one-story and only in 1770 to its western side was attached a multi-tiered bell tower. Not so long ago, large-scale restoration work was completed in the church.
The Church of St. Nicholas of Cazac in Putivl - a vivid example of monumentalism, of restraint and at the same time Greatness of architectural style. You can make sure of this by visiting the temple, which is a product of professional architecture and folk traditions of its time.
