Resurrection Church, Lebedin
There are many temples in the Sumy region, some of them wooden. The oldest of them is located in Swan. The Resurrection Church was built in the second half of the 18th century and underwent many changes. Initially, the temple was made with a three-domed church with a separate bell tower. Later rebuilt in the form of a cross with five octagonal domes, and on the outside, vertically trimmed with a tree, which gave a special appearance to the building. After a while the church and bell tower were united.
According to one of the local legends, during the Battle of Poltava the Ascension church visited the Emperor Peter himself< strong>I. In the 30s of the 20th century the church was closed, the bell tower was destroyed, the interior was destroyed, and the iconostasis was put to the fire. The room was used as a warehouse.
