30 km from the city Sumy in the village of Kiyanitsa is an old manor house, known as the Palace of Leszczynski. It was built in 1890.
Maecenas, sugar maker I. Kharitonenko, bought the land here, where he built his first sugar factory and a small palace that bequeathed to his niece, merchant M. Leshchinskaya.
Until now, a dilapidated manor keeps traces of its former charm. The two-story palace, built in neo-Renaissance style, stands on the shore of a large pond. The manor is decorated with a graceful turret above the front porch and decorated with columns. The building is surrounded by a huge English park, seated with various trees and shrubs.
There were preserved farm buildings, a small outbuilding and a bridge across the pond, built by the owners. Until recently, inside the palace you could admire the remains of stucco molding and a staircase leading to the second floor with a huge railing, with elegant railings.
Now, despite the deplorable state, the palace still attracts tourists. Here are guided tours.
