Ascension Church, Great Bobrik
The village of Great Bobrik is famous for its picturesque views. The building of the Ascension church is pearls of church architectureSumy region. The temple was built in 1808 and is located amidst a quiet countryside, picturesque oak groves and a pond. Dimensions of the temple amaze with its grandeur and monumentality. The building is visible even at the entrance to the village.
The architecture of this building is very original: an arcade gallery with three spans and columns, decorated with a three-tiered bell tower in classical style. The combination of white stone, graceful columns along the contours of the building and the azure dome gives the temple an unusual look. Inside the temple is decorated with restored old frescoes, pilasters in the Corinthian style, as well as an old iconostasis. This architectural structure attracts the eye with its beauty and majesty.
Next to the temple is the famous Great-Brytsky park.
