Archaeological Museum, Rzhyschiv
An interesting archaeological museum is located near Kiev in the center of Rzhyschiv. Already the building of the museum itself is unique: it is a brick building of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The exposition of the museum contains archaeological materials that were found during the excavation in the city. The museum is divided into several rooms. In the first hall you can see archaeological findsof such cultures as: Trypillya, Chernolas, Zarubinetskaya, Chernyakhovskaya Old Russian .The museum's local history department is devoted to the history of Rzhishchev's period 16 -20 centuries. The exhibits of this hall tell us about the main events in the history of the city. For example, about the creation of the Rzhishchevskaya Cossack hundred, about the meeting of the hetman's welcome of Bogdan Khmelnitsky.
The museum also has a separate ethnographic exposition, which tells about the life and way of life of peasants and philistines of the 18-20th centuries. Here you will also learn about the beliefs, crafts, clothes and everyday life of Ukrainian burghers. Separate expositions are devoted to the The Holodomor of 1932-1933 and the events of the Second World War.The exhibition hall presents new exhibits, where you will see the works of folk artists from Rzhyshchiv and other cities of the Kiev region.
The museum's door is open for tourists every day from 9:00 to 16:00. Also in Rzhyshchiv is worth visiting the Trinity Church.
