Source of St. Theodosius, Vasilkov
The source of Saint Theodosius is in a small town Vasilkov. According to legend, the first wellin this area was dug by St. Theodosius of Caves, whose name eventually became known as the source. It happened in the 11th century.
Not far from it is located the ancient cathedral. He was also named in honor of the two saints - Anthony and Theodosius of the Caves. The is built in the beautiful architectural style of the Ukrainian Baroque. Its construction was handled by Stepan Kovnir - one of the serf masters of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. The cathedral was built in the 18th century. Construction work in it lasted from 1756 to 1758.
Unfortunately, during the Soviet era the building of the cathedral was thoroughly destroyed and only in 2001 it was completely reconstructed.
