Aleksandrovsky barracks, Belgorod-Dnestrovsky

Near the Scythian grave in Belgorod-Dnestrovsky are the so-called Alexander Barracks, more precisely - what is left of them. This monument of architecture was built in the 20-30 years of the 19th century, according to the decree of the Russian Emperor Alexander the First. The name of the barracks is associated with his name, although the construction was completed already under Nicholas I.

The imperial decree was not accidental: Alexander wanted to strengthen his borders in Bessarabia, so Ackerman deployed military construction. Officer corps and soldiers' barracks were executed in Oriental style and were used for almost 170 years.

In the mid-90s of the last century, the Ukrainian military unit was withdrawn from there, and the military complex was decided to transfer the architectural complex to communal property Belgorod-Dnestrovsky. Since the monument of architecture had to be watched and tended, the city did not appreciate such an offering. Soon the deserted military town began to be raided by all kinds of vandals, which turned it into ruins with complete indifference of local authorities. The crown and the end of all this was a fire that finally destroyed the barracks.

There is still worth a trip and look at what could not destroy neither the robbers, nor the fire, nor merciless time. This can be done by going to Shabskaya Street 51b.
