Church of the Sacrament of the Holy Spirit
The Church of the Sacrament of the Holy Spirit in the Transcarpathian village of Dolgoe evokes interest by its name. The Ascension Day itself is also interesting, during which Catholics remember Jesus' ascension to heaven, and later the Holy Spirit, in honor of which the temple was built and dedicated.
There are many interesting buildings in Transcarpathia, including temples. However, to meet a church erected in the style of constructivism with hi-tech elements- a curiosity. Previously, this place was an old Roman Catholic church, built in 1920. During the years of Soviet power, he was not cared for, so he fell into decay and he was decided to completely disassemble.
It can be unequivocally said that the old temple looked different. The new Church of the Holy Spirit was built in 1999. It is interesting that part of its front facade looks a bit like a clock arrow. Perhaps, this has some deep meaning. Next to the unusual church stands the Greek Catholic Church of St. Elijah, which further emphasizes the unusual forms of the temple of the Holy Spirit.
