Artificial Engine Noise for Electric Vehicles2 photos
As we already know, the United States plans to build a city without people in order to conduct various experiments regarding transportation and urban management. In such a place, silent electric vehicles would be quite appropriate. However, in other areas where people live, the quiet operation of electric vehicles can be quite dangerous. After all, people are accustomed to paying attention to the sound of approaching vehicles; this is one of the most important factors for road safety. Electric vehicles, on the other hand, are almost silent. In fact, the U.S. government has even passed a law requiring that electric vehicles be equipped with special sound amplifiers.
Compliant with this law, AUDI has decided to install special sound systems in all its vehicles. These systems use sounds recorded in the studio during the testing of gasoline-powered models from the same manufacturer. The sophisticated system developed by AUDI engineers allows the generation of sounds on electric vehicles that are precisely synchronized with the operating mode of a conventional vehicle—taking into account factors such as engine power, speed, and load.
So now, even owners of electric vehicles can experience the sound of a genuine AUDI coming from under their car’s hood. This not only enhances their sense of pride but also improves the safety of other road users!
