Underwater Photo Exhibition Taken Beneath the Water7 photos
This unique event is currently taking place on the US Navy surveillance vessel 'General Vandenberg'. The ship was sunk in 2009 in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, 7 miles southeast of Key West Island, to serve as an artificial reef and diving site. The depth at the bottom is 43 meters.
Austrian photographer Andreas Franke has transformed the 'General Vandenberg' into a gallery showcasing his artistic photographs. These images were originally taken on this very ship using digital technology.
The pictures, displayed in frames made of stainless steel, are protected by plexiglass and sealed with silicone. The exhibition is likely to be open to visitors until the end of the year.
