The High Line: A Park on Manhattan at an Altitude of Approximately 10 Meters Above Ground, Built on the Site of an Former Overhead Railroad Track7 photos
After its closure in 1980, there were multiple discussions about demolishing it, but ultimately it was decided to transform it into a park. The first section opened in 2009, and construction continues to this day. Today, the park stretches over 2 kilometers in length.
