Former Adalдин Apartment Building (Sumskaya Street, 44)
The former Adaldin Apartment Building. Designed by architect Y.S. Zaune in 1912.
This unique building, located at Sumskaya Street 44, was constructed as early as 1912. It has not only been exceptionally well-preserved over the years but has also undergone restoration, making it look truly magical, especially at night.
Its design features an eclectic style that blends classical and modern elements. On the very highest floor, there used to be a shop belonging to merchant Adalдин. The upper two floors are connected by quarter-round columns. The building is adorned with sculptures in an antique style. Below the eaves, there is a balustrade, and on the roof, there is a solarium with a tower that housed a summer café.
