In 1902, the Hungarian artist Tivadár Kostka Chontvári created the painting “The Old Fisherman”. At first glance, there seems to be nothing unusual about this work, but Tivadár concealed a hidden message within it—a message that remained unpublished during the artist’s lifetime. Few people ever thought of placing a mirror in the center of the painting. By doing so, it becomes evident that within each person exist both aspects: the divine (represented by the old man’s right shoulder) and the demonic (symbolized by his left shoulder).
