Ringo Starr (Richard Starkey) was born on July 7, 1940, in Liverpool, England. He never completed his education. At the age of 15, Ringo worked as a steward on a ferry operating between Liverpool and Wales; despite his passion for music, he had no aspirations to become famous on stage. However, later on he began playing in Rory Storm’s beat group.

His friendship with Harrison, McCartney, and Lennon led to his joining the “Beatles” in 1962. From then on, he became the band’s permanent drummer and percussionist. He also co-wrote several songs for the “Beatles”.

Together with his fellow musicians, Ringo Starr traveled around the world.

After the “Beatles” broke up, Starr pursued a solo career.
