House No. 16 – I. I. Mechnikov Institute of Microbiology, Vaccines and Serums.

This three-and-a-half-story building was constructed in 1911–1913 according to the design by Academician A. N. Beketov for the Kharkiv Medical Society and the Pasteur Institute. The architecture of the institute combines elements of Modernism and Constructivism. The facade is adorned with decorative vases, supported by statues of griffins, as well as reliefs and geometric patterns. The auditorium is decorated with paintings by the artist M. R. Pestrikov.
