Nikolaevsky Monastery, Town
The Nikolaev Monastery is on an oval, elevated island on the Ustye River in the village of Gorodok. From the monastery is a bridge, located in the western part of the island, surrounded by an old park.
The story of the village started back in the middle of the 15th century. The monastery here appeared thanks to the owner of this settlement - Princess Anastasia Olshanskaya, who donated her estate with the castle of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. One ancient tradition is connected with these places. It says that once there was an ancient temple that completely entered the ground when these places were captured by the Tatar horde. In due course, where the church stood, a healing source was opened. And in memory of a temple that entered the ground near this place, a new church was built.
