Fortress Tyagin, Tyaginka

Since time immemorial, the fortress Tyagin, located in the village of the same name, towers over the Dnieper. It was built during the reign of the Turks in the 14th century. The castle, erected on the island of the Great fortress in the 14th century, was crowned with three towers. After 1491, when the lands were under the rule of the Crimean Khan, the building was converted into a stronghold, designed to protect the lands from Tatar raids. The first mention of the Zaporozhye Cossacks dates back to 1492 and is associated with an attack on a Turkish ship that occurred under the walls of the fortress. From time immemorial, the Tyagin fortress towers over the Dnieper, located in the village of the same name.
