The Museum of the Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts in Kosovo was founded in 1936. A. Solomchenko became the first director of an art-industrial school. Today it is a kind of scientific and cognitive center, in which the artistic heritage of several generations of eminent Hutsul folk masters is stored. The funds and expositions of the institution contain more than 3 thousand artifacts. The museum exhibits Hutsul folk art of the 19-20th centuries, the creations of the famous contemporary craftsmen of Kosovshchina. There is a valuable collection of Hutsul tiles, metal, leather and wood products.
The museum's materials were used to create more than 40 domestic and foreign films.
