The Church of Joseph the Betrothed

Its majestic facade is easy to see even from very remote streets. Even in the Soviet period, this building was one of the most remarkable in the city.

It hosted large-scale conferences with foreign guests and important city holidays.

The history of the church began in the 16th and 17th centuries, when a wooden Christian church stood in its place. Presumably, the structure suffered from a severe fire, so in 1801 it was decided to erect a major church with tall towers. By the time of completion of the construction of the tower on the church were the most notable in all of Nemyriv. Today they have synchronized clocks - one of the distinguishing features of most Catholic churches.

In recent years, the building was globally restored, after the mid-20th century, when it was used as a local house of culture. Unfortunately, the interior of the temple did not survive in its original form, but it was restored with great diligence. Now this is one of the best architectural monuments of the region. Among the local attractions is also the Holy Trinity Church and the Shcherbatov Palace, located nearby.
