The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Catherine was built in 1866 with community funds and donations. The new church was designed in early Gothic style, its appearance was complemented by elements of the late Baroque. During its existence the church survived a lot.

During its existence the church survived a lot. It was repeatedly closed down by the city authorities and the community was restored. The alienated building was empty for years. At one time it even housed an archive and a library of foreign books. After such tests, the church came to a state of emergency.

In 1990, the building was transferred to the Dnepropetrovsk society "Revival", which was engaged in a large-scale reconstruction of the church. The restoration plan was developed by the architects of Dnepropetrovsk and Munich.

Today, the interior of the small church impresses with luxury: a rich altar with a crucifix, beautiful icons, graceful plaster sculptures of saints, expensive items of worship and books in a chic bound. The greatest impression is produced by the scenes from the gospel life, which skilfully painted the ceilings and walls of the church.

The Evangelical Lutheran community is the only one in Ukrainethat was able to preserve and continue the traditions of the church of the 16th century. Today, regular events are held here: morning and evening prayers, worship services, youth meetings, a Sunday school is open, German language groups are conducted. The doors of the temple are open to all who want to look into the mysterious world of this faith.

For the residents of Dnepropetrovsk, this church is an interesting historical monument, which organically blended into the face of the city and was decorated with its many-sided architectural ensemble.
