Monument to Valery Chkalov

A monument to the famous Soviet test pilot, Hero of the Soviet Union Valery Pavlovich Chkalov was opened in 1981 in Dnepropetrovsk. In 1937, the plane, whose commander was Valery Chkalov, made the first non-stop flight across the North Pole.

The monument is located at the intersection of Stolyarov Street and Karl Marx Avenue, in the park named after Lazar Globa.
