The deepest cave in the world
The Cave of the Crown-Crow is considered today the deepest in the world. It is located in Abkhazia and its depth is 2196 meters. It is a series of wells that are connected by galleries. Besides the fact that the cave itself has the status of the deepest in the world, its waters are also the basis for the shortest river in the world, called Reprua. The first exploration of the cave took place in 1960. Under the leadership of speleologist Maruashvili, Georgian researchers recorded a depth of 95 meters. It is noteworthy that the largest number of records on the depth of descent here put the Ukrainian speleologists. 10 years ago they first fell below the depth of 2000 meters, than they beat their own record. Today it is 2060 meters.
