Holy Protection Monastery in Kharkov - the oldest surviving building in the city. In the XVII century. the monastery was part of the fortification system of the Kharkov fortress.

The belltower of the Intercession Cathedral (1689) looks like a defensive tower. Entrance gates are decorated with an icon of the Savior Not Made by Hands. On the territory is the Ozeryanskaya church (1896), the bishop's house, the house of the abbot and the corps of cells with the refectory. In 1726, the Kharkov Collegium was founded here, in which the philosopher G. Skovoroda taught (a monument was erected), the writer S. Kvitka-Osnovyanenko worked. By the 2000 anniversary of Christianity, the figure of Jesus Christ is installed.
