Vorontsov Palace in Odessa
The palace complex with belvedere, stables was the residence of Governor-General Mikhail Vorontsov from 1826. Here stayed the imperial couple.
At the entrance of visitors meets a formidable stone lion. The buildings themselves are built in Empire style and classics, designed by the architect F. Boffo. Massive tall columns, panels on the facade, a patterned frieze - details speak of rigor and grandeur. True, not everything has survived since the Count Vorontsov.
Twice the palace complex suffered destruction. During the Crimean War an Anglo-French squadron fell on him. The Second World War completely destroyed the Orel Corps, the rest also suffered. But after both wars, the buildings of the palace complex were raised from the ruins and restored. Particular attention should be paid to the symbol of Odessa - the colonnade of the Vorontsov Palace. Here people like to be photographed.
The House of Children and Youth Creativity is now in the palace building. Many interior elements were transported to the Alupka Palace.
