Kremenchug HPP

Kremenchug HPP is a part of Ukrhidroenergo. The power station was opened on the Dnieper River and is the third stage of the Dnipro cascade of hydroelectric power stations. The work of the hydropower plant began in 1959.

The Kremenchug reservoir is one of the largest in Ukraine. The main structure of the hydrosystem is the building of a hydroelectric power station with twelve vertical turbine hydroelectric units.

On the territory there are navigable single-chamber sluices, earth and concrete spillway dams. A highway and a railway run through structures. The capacity of the station is 625 MW. On average, the station annually produces 1506 million kWh of electricity. Kremenchug HPP was the first station in the USSR, in which there was no machine room. Control and process control were fully automated.
