Orzhevsky Estate in Novaya Cetoria
About the village of Chertoria that is in Zhytomyr region, heard as far back as the 15th century, but it became popular in the 19th century thanks to the famous Orzhevsky Estate. At the same time, the village was renamed the New Ceretory.
The estate of the noblemen of Orzhevsky was built by the owners of the village - Karol and Jozef Puszynski in the beginning of the 19th century.
The building is Baroque, but later was reconstructed in pseudo-Byzantine style. The central gate is the pride of the complex. And in the building you can see a large stained-glass window that is made in an antiques theme.You can also admire the ancient staircase, decorated with leaves of chestnut and heraldic dragon. And the royalty of the building is beautifully conveyed made of marble fireplace and ceiling.
Now in the estate there is an agrarian college, which was founded in 1920 and originally functioned as an agricultural technical school. A a steam mill that appeared on the estate site in 1870, is used today as a hydroelectric power station.
After visiting the estate of the noble Orzhevsky, you can also enjoy ponds anda picturesque park in which 160-170-year-old trees grow.
