Mezentsev's palace, Novograd-Volynsky
After the revolution, the village became part of the city and the yellow building, called Mezentsev's house, is now within the city limits.
>In the estate was a palace built by Prince Lubomirsky, and the new owner undertook to remake it. The son of master V. Mezentsev had to finish the reconstruction. Restored in 1903, the palace has an unusual appearance. It combines elements of at once three styles: Baroque, Classicism and Renaissance. In the late 19th century, this trend in construction was very popular and was called the style of historicism. Two-story brick palace with a tower covered with plaster and painted with yellow paint. It stands on the bank of the river, which complements its similarity with the medieval castle, because it was the architect who sought to obtain such an effect. The house is built of two parts, connected by a hall and a wide staircase. Initially, the palace had two towers, but one was destroyed and not rebuilt. Near the castle is a large arboretum.
After the revolution, the house was given to the agricultural technical school, and after a while it became the headquarters of one of the divisions. And on the territory of the arboretum there were fortifications of the so-called "Stalin's Line".
Now it's impossible to get to the palace or park, since it's a closed territory. And the traveler, who wished to see the landmark, remains to admire the facade and a sign on it with the names of the military leaders.
