Intercession Church in Priork
Build it all around the world, because most of the religious buildings were erected not at public expense, but with funds donated by merchants, noblemen, clergy and ordinary parishioners. A simple people lifted their weights on their shoulders, even children did their bricks for construction.
Many things for the new church were borrowed from the dismantled wooden temple - the iconostasis, bells, altars, church utensils. From the former church walls it was possible even to build two houses, one of which was preserved on the territory of the church to the present day.
Despite the devastating revolutions and wars, the church has retained its appearance. Prayer within the walls of the temple was practically not interrupted, it was only in the late 1930s that he served as a vegetable store for three years. The interior has suffered, only the doors of the iconostasis with the face of Archangel Michael were able to survive.
But now the church vaults, aiming at 30 metersskyward, are painted with frescoes depicting the faces of saints and plots taken from Holy Scripture. The main decoration is the majestic iconostasis.
Today in the church there are three thrones:in honor of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin, St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, St. Great Martyr St. George the Victorious. Previously, priests of the autocephalous church and Old Believers held services in the church. Now the Intercession Church belongs to the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate.
