#### Old Bridges of Kharkiv

1. The Lopansky Bridge at the beginning of the Ekaterinoslavskaya Street (the Poltava Road) was the first major bridge in Cossack Kharkiv, existing by 1745. The new iron bridge, supported by stone pillars, was the first stone bridge in Kharkiv, built in 1888 by the Kharkiv Horse-Drawn Tramway Company as part of a contract to construct a tram line in the city. By that time, the tram had already been using this crossing for 6 years. During the Great Patriotic War, the bridge was destroyed and rebuilt in 1958 according to the design by architect A. V. Mezerovskiy.

2. The Small Lopansky Bridge (also known as the Old Lopansky Bridge or the Office Bridge) is located at the beginning of the Kontorskaya Street (formerly known as Krasnooktyabrskaya Street). It has been in use since the mid-19th century, connecting the Torgovaya/Pavlovskaya Square with other areas of the city.

3. The Merchant Bridge crosses the Lopan River and connects the Kupechesky/Pašchenko-Triapkinskiy Slope (formerly known as Halturnin Slope) with the Blagoveshchensky Cathedral. This bridge, also built in the mid-19th century, was constructed alongside the construction of the Blagoveshchensky Cathedral.

4. The Bursaцкий Bridge, originally a wooden structure, was replaced by a first stone bridge at the beginning of the 20th century. A new bridge was built in 1933 and restored in 1946.

5. The Ivanovsky Bridge crosses the Lopan River on the Ivanovskaya Street. The wooden structure was established in the second half of the 19th century, and a stone bridge was constructed in 1929 and renovated in 1953.

6. The Rogatinsky Bridge is located in the Rogatinsky Alley, near the Central Market area. It originally consisted of a wooden structure in the mid-19th century but was later replaced by a stone bridge built in 1931 and restored in 1945.

7. The Fish Bridge spans the Harkov River, connecting the Rybnaya Square with Mariinskaya Street. It was constructed in the second half of the 19th century, although there were earlier wooden bridges at this location. Later, a Belgian tram line operated on this bridge.
