The Faltz-Feyn's Crypt
The Faltz-Feyn Crypt is the place of the last rest of the great Russian-German dynasty. He is in the village of Novochernomorye, Kherson region.
The tomb was erected on a mound near the Round Lake in 1897. And represented a stone orthodox chapel-mausoleum. The fence was a brick wall with 12 facets, and the gate was the caretaker's house, built near the crypt. The first here was the eternal peace of Baroness Sophia Falz-Fein, and in 1908, her husband rested next to her.
The village belonged to a family loyal to the Russian throne of the Germans in the 19-20 centuries. The first representatives of the dynasty arrived by order of Catherine II. They helped develop horse breeding, farming and trade; built hospitals and schools. The name Faltz-Feinov is remembered even today thanks to one of its representatives who created the Askania-Nova reserve.
