Memorial Museum-Estate of Les Kurbas

In the village of Staryi Skalat in the Ternopil region on the hilly slopes of the "Medobory" reserve, there is a memorial museum-estate of Les Kurbas. Opened it in the winter of 1987. The place of the museum's creation was chosen not by chance.

In the village of Staryi Skalat, Ternopil region, on hilly slopes of the Medobory reserve  there is a memorial museum-estate of Les Kurbas. Opened it in the winter of 1987. The place of the museum was chosen not by chance. Exactly  here on February 25, 1887 Les Kurbas was born - one of the most famous Ukrainian filmmakers and playwrights of Ukraine.

The exhibits of the museum-estate are located in five rooms of the family estate. Each of them carries in itself a unique atmosphere of those times. All expositions belong to a certain style and time period of L. Kurbas's life.

In the first room visitors to the museum open the first timid steps of Les Kurbas in the theatrical art. The exposition of the second room represents the creative period during the stay in Kiev, the third - the features of the Kharkov segment in the work of the famous director. The exposition in the fifth room is devoted to the regional drama theater of Ternopil.
