Museum of Local Lore, Kremenets
Local History Museum in the city Kremenets Ternopil region was opened in 1937 at the Lyceum. Now he is located in the central part of the city in the building where the theological seminary was previously located. The main decoration of this asymmetric two-story structure, covered with gray plaster, are large semicircular windows and thin white relief protrusions around them.
The exposition of the museum is located in 10 rooms. The most interesting for visitors are the exhibits that were collected at the beginning of the opening of this institution. This museum of local lore is included in the list of the largest museums in the region. The number of exhibits is more than 65 thousand, in storage there are 1500 valuable items.
In the halls are the objects of the historical past and modern life. The museum contains objects of everyday life and work of the national craftfound during archeological excavations. Here you can see personal belongings and creative works of the Polish poet Juliusz Slowacki, as well as exhibits that indicate the arrival in 1846 in the Kremenets district of Taras Shevchenko.
The museum is accessible to all visitors on weekdays and weekends from 10:00 to 16:30, except Tuesday and Wednesday.
