St. Miklos Castle in Chynadiyevo
The castle "Saint Miklos" or "Saint Nicholas" is located in the village of Chynadievo, which is in the Mukacheve district of Transcarpathia. In addition, he has a third, more romantic name - "The Castle of Love."
The building occupies two floors and is made in the form of a rectangle. The castle also contains two corner towers for three tiers. Its construction falls on the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries, therefore the building is made in the style of the Romanesque residence.
The history of the castle "Saint Miklos" is rich in various historical events. Over the years the structure managed to visit the noble Baron's genus Pereni, serve as a guard pass, and become a shelter for the rebel army. With the advent of the Soviet Government, the castle was used for various practical purposes (forestry, village council, etc.) and did not preserve any historical and cultural character.
Now the castle has an art gallery and museum exposition, art exhibitions, concerts of live music, collections of painters, concerts of classical chamber music, presentations of films and books, marriage ceremony for young couples. And also, on the basis of the castle operates the Tourist Information Center "Saint Miklos".
