Memorial sign The place of the baptism of Rus

On the 1025th anniversary of the baptism of Rus in the Ukrainian capital, a contest was held for the best draft design of a memorial sign. It was planned to place it in the area of ​​the Column of Magdeburg Law. The huge cross-font on the water won - the idea of ​​a group of architects headed by Igor Protsenko. The cross was to be installed in 2013 on stilts in the waves of the Dnieper.

To the 1025th anniversary of the baptism of Rus in the capital of Ukraine, a contest was held for the best draft design of a commemorative sign. It was planned to place it in the area of ​​the Column of Magdeburg Law. I won a huge  cross-font on the water - the idea of ​​a group of architects headed by Igor Protsenko. The cross was to be installed in 2013 on stilts in the waves of the Dnieper. but  The project was postponed for a year until it was implemented.

July 18, 2013 (the day of the baptism of Rus) - was restored itself Column of Magdeburg law, a ladder to it and an underground passage from the lower monument to Vladimir the Baptist.

Above the entrance to the underground passage is located  a panel of ceramics depicting a cross on the waters of the Dnieper(a symbol of baptism) and the inscription: "Here in 988 at the confluence of the Dnieper and Pochayna was baptized Kievan Rus." A sign was also established that the memorial sign dedicated to the 1025th anniversary of that date will be installed in 2014. Now the people of Kiev consider such a panel.
