Park Christera Hill, Kiev
Park "Gorka Christera" is a unique historicalzone, located among the intricate streets of modern Kiev. "Christer's Hill" refers to the remaining remains of a green forest, which in the 19th century belonged to the famous farmerWilhelmChrister.
The legendarygardenfigurenamed Christer was from Saxony and arrived in the then Russian Empire for consultations as a specialist in weaving. His services were so highly paid for, that in a few years he purchased a land plot of 40hectares. Since then, the Saxon began to deal exclusively with his favorite pastime - gardening. The Krister farm grew and was the richestinKievby the end of the 1890s.
Near the large site was built the house of Christer, a beautiful two-story wooden building with a pediment and decorative columns. This architecturalobjectcan be seen in our days, unfortunately, rapidly deteriorating.
The rest of the park "Gorka Christera" is the farmer's farm, restoredin2000s, with new openwork benches, unusual bridges and convenient alleys around ponds.
