It is assumed that in the 14th century there was a Roman Catholic parish with a small wooden church, which, after the Tatars attack on Podillia and Galicia, was burnt to the ground in 1498. And already on the site of construction of a stone built. Alas, the fire did not spare the new church in 1637. In all of history, it burned four times, but the religious community restored it. The architecture of the current building shows the features of the Renaissance and Gothic.

Now, in front of the church, visitors are met by the stone Pope John Paul II. The monument was erected in 2007. It is also known that from 1864 to 1865, Bishop Joseph Pelchar served in this church, which the Catholic Church recognized as a saint.
