The Powder Tower, Lviv

The Powder Tower in Lviv is valuable because it is almost the only monument that has been preserved, from a large number of bastions and towers of Lviv. Trade flourished in Lviv and in peacetime in the Powder Tower stored grain and various goods.

In the middle of the last century, the Architect's House was moved to the tower. Various cultural events and exhibitions are held here.

Outwardly the tower looks pompous and occupies a large territory, but the premises inside are very small. This discrepancy is related to the thickness of the walls, which reaches three meters.

The entrance is guarded by two lionsmade in the 19th century from white marble. In total in Lviv there are about three thousand stone kings of animals, but these are considered to be the most artistically valuable.
