Prospekt Svobody, Uzhhorod

Liberty Avenue in Uzhgorod is located in the center of the city, near two train stations. It stretches from Bogdan Khmelnitsky Square, near the Uzh River, to Zheleznodorozhnaya Street, thus practically crossing the new city in half.

Walking along Freedom Avenue, you will get acquainted with the modern Uzhgorod. The old city is a very different interest.

Attractions on Freedom Avenue

There was once a poplar alley on Freedom Avenue. But the trees were cut down and only hemp left. Creative local people with humor approached this event. On each stump, they placed a cheerful figure: caterpillar, butterfly, cat, monkey and others.

On the square of Cyril and Methodius there is a snow-white Krestovozdvizhensky temple. This is a new construction, unlike the old Holy Cross Cathedral on Kapitulnaya.

As it was said earlier, this avenue lies in the new part of the city, therefore it is better for hunters behind the antiquity to go to the historical part of Uzhgorod.
