Monument to Miklouho-Maclay

The monument to N. Miklukho-Maklai is in the homeland of the well-known scientist, ethnographer and traveler in the city of MalinZhytomyr region. It was installed in 1986 in honor of the 140th anniversary of the birth of the figure.The monument was created by the sculptor P. Stepanov.

H. Miklouho-Maclay is a representative of the ancient Cossacks. Most of his life he devoted to fascinating travel and research around the world. He worked in the territory of Australia, Asian countries, Oceania. And only at the end of his activity he returned to his homeland and began to study the culture of the Poleschuk.

The sculpture is cast from bronze, has average dimensions and is located on a small pedestal. The scientist is depicted as a simple man with an open mind. It combines immediacy and love for everything around: to nature, to people, to the world as a whole.

The monument to N. Miklukho-Maklai in Malin is the only one of its kind, therefore, during a trip to Zhitomir, it must be visited.
