“Elixir of Youth”2 photos
In 1947, Dr. Alexey Vlasovich Dorogov, a candidate in veterinary sciences, successfully developed what he called the “elixir of youth.” This liquid substance was named ASD—Dorogov’s Antiseptic-Stimulant. Unlike conventional medical treatments, ASD not only alleviated symptoms but completely cured various skin diseases, tuberculosis, bronchial asthma, cardiovascular disorders, and cancer, as well as neurological disorders.
ASD saved the life of Lavrentiy Beria’s mother, who was suffering from cancer in the late 1940s. At Stalin and Beria’s personal orders, large-scale experiments were conducted on prisoners to treat tuberculosis; these experiments achieved a success rate of 99.6%. Even advanced cases were cured, and mortality rates significantly decreased.
1951 proved to be a fortunate year for Dorogov. Many medical institutions began using ASD officially, and he himself was awarded the title of Doctor of Sciences without any formal procedures. He received the Order of the Labor Red Flag, a “Moskvich” automobile, and later became a recipient of the USSR State Prize.
In 1952, crystals of the first fraction of the ASD preparation were isolated, which were dubbed the “biological bomb” of medicine. Microdoses of this substance could cure almost any disease except for those that required surgical intervention. It made most medications obsolete, as it effectively rejuvenated the body and extended active life expectancy.
However, Beria personally ordered that ASDF-1 be reserved solely for his use and that of his close circle. All other members of the Politburo were prohibited from using it.
After Beria’s removal from power, officials from the Ministry of Health and the Procuratorate began to persecute Dorogov. His laboratory for tissue therapy was closed down, and he was falsely accused and dismissed from his job. Compromising evidence against him was fabricated among his colleagues and patients.
Alexey Vlasovich repeatedly attempted to revive his career and use his connections within the Politburo to achieve this goal. By autumn 1957, it seemed that he was on the verge of success when he was suddenly found murdered near his home. In 1959, the production and use of ASD were once again classified as top-secret.

Quasars are some of the most distant objects in the universe. They are extremely bright and emit large amounts of energy, including a tremendous amount of light. Quasars are formed when giant galaxies contain massive stars with very high masses and densities. These stars have such high temperatures that their surfaces reach temperatures of millions of degrees Celsius. Their extreme brightness makes them visible even from enormous distances. Therefore, quasars can be considered to be some of the
