Local History Museum (Brody)

The Museum of Local History was founded in 1984 to the 900th anniversary of the city of Brody. The museum's funds are located in two buildings. The main thing is on Liberty Square.

The Museum of Local History was founded in 1984 to the 900th anniversary of the city of Brody. The museum's funds are located in two buildings. The main thing is on Liberty Square. In the 18th century there was a convent of sisters-mourners. And in 1882-1918, the oldstate of the Austro-Hungarian empire met. The second division of the museum is located on the territory of Brodovsky Castle.

About 5,000 exhibits are kept in museum funds. The exposition includes 43 sections and is located in 7 halls of the museum.

Here you can learn about the history of the region, from ancient times(from the Stone Age to Kievan Rus). The Lithuanian-Polish period is represented; the reign of the Austrian Empire. Two wars are also covered: the First World War and the Second World War. A lot of materials have been collected on the struggle for independence during the ZUNR period and activities in the OUN-UPA Brodovshchina.

The museum stores archeological monuments, money of various centuries, weapons, awards, objects of everyday life and culture, interesting photos and documents.
