The house itself was built according to the project of the Viennese architects Helmer and Felner, whose famous creation is also the Odessa Opera House.
Ornate vestibules, steps with baroque ornament, rooms with fireplaces, original decoration and characteristic elements of the decor attracted filmmakers more than once. So, here the famous musketeer D'Artagnan played chess with Cardinal Richelieu: the scenes of the film "D'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers" were shot.
