This is a story set in the Kingdom of Denmark in the mid-18th century. Young Queen Caroline-Mathilde despises her husband, the mentally ill King Christian VII, who prefers prostitutes to her company. The arrival of the German liberal physician Johann Friedrich Struensee in the king’s entourage brings about significant changes not only in Caroline’s life—she falls in love with the handsome doctor—but also in that of the Danes, as Struensee exerts considerable influence on the king, who gradually reforms the government. Unfortunately, the queen and the doctor’s relationship is doomed, as Christian’s stepmother disapproves of these changes in Copenhagen.

The Invisible
