2012 South American Half-Dance Championship

On the eve of the competition, participants held a beautiful promotional event right on the streets of Buenos Aires.

As you can see, both women and men participated in the competition.

The championship lasted for a full three days.

The final took place on Tuesday evening.

The jury consisted of world champions and winners of other major competitions; they performed demonstration routines right before the award ceremony.

Now, let’s talk about the winners. Argentinean Daniela Schmoll came in second place at the national championship.

Maria Rame was named the best dancer from Argentina; at the continental championship, she also finished in second place.

Chilean Ximena Ribero won the bronze medal at the South American Half-Dance Championship, as well as a special award for artistic performance.

Rafaela Mantanaro was unanimously recognized by the jury as the champion of South American Half-Dance.

Carlos Franca from Brazil became the champion in the men’s half-dance category.
