This historic monument is considered one of the symbols of Yemen and is located in the village of Suk al-Wadi, fifteen kilometers away from the city of Sana’a, in the famous Wadi Dhar valley. It is often referred to as the Imam’s Palace.
The exact date of construction of the original castle is unknown.

However, it is believed that the first structures were built long before the emergence of Islam.

During the Middle Ages, the castle was completely destroyed by the Turks and was only partially restored in the second half of the eighteenth century.

In the 1930s, the Imam’s Palace was rebuilt here and became his summer residence.

The village itself also belonged to him.

Currently, a museum is located in this building.

This example of Yemeni architecture is a seven-story structure with 35 rooms, storage areas, and a kitchen.

Around the palace, there are five half-destroyed watchtowers.
