At the base the thickness of the walls of the tower reaches up to two meters. Outside the top, the stone (after the restoration of the brick) teeth is clearly drawn against the sky. At the bottom of the walls of the tower at an angle turn into thickenings - buttresses. They provided additional reliability to the structure. In addition, during a storm on the sea softened by shock waves at the base of the tower. Then the tower rose a few meters from the shore. In 1475, after the fall of Kafa under the blows of the Turks, an additional stone fortification was added to the tower - the so-called Turkish Bastion.
